# Vasanth Sreeram > Singapore-based founder and engineer, born in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. Founder of Lintlabs, co-builder of BugBoom and CTO of Noverse; studies Bioengineering at NTU. Ships AI agents in public and runs hands-on workshops for teams and SMEs. ## About - Name: Vasanth Sreeram ("Vas") - Based in: Singapore - Email: vas@lintlabs.org ## Elsewhere - GitHub: https://github.com/vasanthsreeram - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vasanthsreeram - X: https://x.com/vasanth_sreeram - YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@vasanthsreeram - TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@vas_sreeram - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vas_sreeram/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vasanthsreeram ## Origin Born in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. His family was pushed out of their extended family home and lived for a stretch in a friend's factory office; his father moved to Singapore alone in 2003–2004 as a construction labourer on about S$300 a month, and the family joined him years later. Placed in Normal Academic after a poor PSLE, he turned things around through NPCC, then National Service, and reached Junior College — one of only two students from his Secondary 5 cohort to do so. He started TeachX, a tuition platform, straight out of NS; it failed. He then built in parallel: BugBoom, Noverse and Lintlabs, while studying Bioengineering at NTU. Diagnosed with ADHD at university. He performs best under pressure and with no slack, and treats shipping as a form of respect. ## Companies - **Lintlabs** (Lint Technologies) — Founder. Applied AI lab and services for SMEs: agents, voice intake and process automation. - **BugBoom** — Co-builder. Circular-economy work using black soldier fly larvae to turn food waste into feed and fertiliser. - **Noverse** (Noverse Inc.) — CTO. Edtech for AI grading. ## News - 2026-11-03 · Speaking: Guest speaker at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2026. Book: vas@lintlabs.org ## API - [Full profile, writing and live stats as JSON](https://vas.sh/api/me) ## Story - [My story — factory floor to founder](https://vas.sh/p/my-story): the full account, from a factory office in Tamil Nadu to running companies in Singapore. - [Full story as plain markdown](https://vas.sh/llms-full.txt) ## Writing - [Computational Protein Logic Gates](https://vas.sh/p/computational-protein-logic-gates) (2026-10-16) A paused computational exploration of protein interactions as logic, connecting mutation-affinity modelling with an equilibrium solver. - [I won an iPhone Duo at a hackathon inside YC](https://vas.sh/p/translatecat-yc-bitrig-hacks) (2026-10-16) At Bitrig Hacks: iPhone Duo Edition, held at Y Combinator on 26 Sep, I built TranslateCat in about two hours with three coding agents in one folder. It won Best RevenueCat creation. It's also still a prototype, and that's part of the story. - [The day that wasn't in the plan](https://vas.sh/p/sf-san-jose-apple-engineers) (2026-10-16) A free pass from a stranger sent me to a developer conference in San Jose, where I met engineers who'd worked with Steve Jobs. They'd been in the room when the US government was working out how to let networking and computers loose on the public. - [Hack for Humanity: San Francisco, 19 Sep](https://vas.sh/p/sf-hack-for-humanity-car-parks) (2026-10-16) Day 3 in SF was a hackathon called Hack for Humanity. I didn't build anything, I watched, and the winners were car park optimisation. What a room rewards tells you what it values, and in SF the scarce thing isn't skill, it's direction. - [The hackathon was a product demo. The room wasn't.](https://vas.sh/p/sf-enterprise-hackathon-product-demo) (2026-10-16) An enterprise hackathon in a Google Huddle space in Mountain View turned out to be a sponsor's user test. We rewrote a COBOL bank batch in Python anyway, and the best thing I took home was a person, not a prize. - [The man with infinite credits](https://vas.sh/p/sf-chris-sat-at-my-table) (2026-10-16) At a hackathon in SF, a stranger called Chris sat down at my table. He turned out to be the highest-signal person I met all year, and one of the most generous. - [Thirty minutes with a maths guy and now I want to do maths](https://vas.sh/p/sf-antler-maths-alejandro) (2026-10-16) A Sunday maths competition at Antler in SF, a room full of impressive job titles, and the one person who actually stuck with me. Passion for a hard problem is the filter, not the title. - [What two weeks in the Bay Area taught me](https://vas.sh/p/sf-two-weeks-lessons) (2026-10-16) Felix and I went to the Bay Area with a plan for every day, and the plan changed on most of them. What I learned is that skill is everywhere there. What's rare is knowing what you're there for. - [Good intentions, bad outcomes](https://vas.sh/p/good-intentions-bad-outcomes) (2026-08-26) Open House had three ECG projects in different skins. The hospital consult explained why — a long needs brief, prior art mostly on student push, a hard "don't copy," and a course that still pays for devices that merely work. You get uniqueness as decoration on mediocrity. - [The device has to work](https://vas.sh/p/medical-device-meeting-device-has-to-work) (2026-08-24) One project meeting said the quiet part of Singapore schooling out loud: the device has to work. Not explore. Not compound. Work. That is not one rubric — it is the national scoreboard. - [Project Panama: they sold virtue, then they hid the knives](https://vas.sh/p/project-panama-boycott-anthropic) (2026-08-22) Anthropic sold itself as the moral lab. Exhibit 21 shows they ran a secret programme to destructively scan the world's books. I grew up treating knowledge like it had a pulse. I am boycotting Claude. - [What to subscribe to in August 2026](https://vas.sh/p/what-to-subscribe-to-august-2026) (2026-08-21) ChatGPT and Grok are the same class — ChatGPT a tad smarter, Grok faster on search. Add Gemini for pictures. I am boycotting Claude after Project Panama. - [Alvarmethod: one teacher, one mind — how the loop actually helps](https://vas.sh/p/alvarmethod-one-to-one-ai-teaching-skills) (2026-08-16) A longer field note on turning Eero Alvar’s AI learning loop into portable skills — probe in the real quiz UI, a mermaid DAG, one-step teaching, and the pictures that lock a step in. - [Sixty-four repos, one thread: what my GitHub history says about how I work](https://vas.sh/p/sixty-four-repos-one-thread) (2026-08-07) I read all 64 public repos as one career: COVID-era hackathon bots, NTU research games, then a 2026 run of on-device Mac AI — macwispr, voice-evolve, a 4.73B MoE trained on a Mac Studio, and the reverse-engineered Cursor API. - [Block YouTube Shorts. Keep YouTube.](https://vas.sh/p/block-youtube-shorts-keep-youtube) (2026-08-07) Three years of trying to kill the Shorts slot machine without losing the library. The fix was solving an HTTP problem at the right layer: one Cloudflare Gateway regex on the /shorts/ path. - [n8n speech-to-text automation with ParakeetASR](https://vas.sh/p/n8n-speech-to-text-parakeetasr) (2026-08-07) Audio files to text automatically: NVIDIA's Parakeet model via RapidAPI, wired into a 3-node n8n workflow with a web upload form. 12x cheaper and 3380x faster than Whisper. - [We placed 2nd at a university hackathon while still in junior college](https://vas.sh/p/bits-and-bolts-2019-university-hackathon-underdogs) (2026-08-07) Bits and Bolts 2019: a JC team (Himanshu, Ojas, Vasanth) walked into a university-level hackathon as underdogs — and took 2nd place. Proof that the bracket doesn't decide who ships. - [The 7,877-site credential heist that started inside my GCP project](https://vas.sh/p/bissa-gcp-credential-heist) (2026-08-07) March 2026: three unauthorized VMs on the Noverse GCP project ran the Bissa malware toolkit — 7,877 sites, 11,250 env files, 50+ countries in ~16 hours. How it was found, killed, and reported. - [When the internet knocks on every SSH port](https://vas.sh/p/ssh-storm-security-drill) (2026-08-06) Chippy’s June 2026 security pass: mass SSH brute force, soft VPS posture, and the boring fix list — including emails when people had to move. - [AirPrint via an AI agent: xiiaozet + Canon MG2580S](https://vas.sh/p/airprint-ai-agent-xiiaozet-canon-mg2580s) (2026-08-05) Hermes/Chippy mapped a dual-Wi‑Fi home, a dumb xiiaozet JetDirect dongle, and Gutenprint/CUPS so a Mac can print to a Canon MG2580S for real. - [One writing surface](https://vas.sh/p/one-writing-surface) (2026-07-29) Story + field notes in one feed. Home stays the loadout screen. - [Introducing Enhance: a digital twin of my university, from cameras it already has](https://vas.sh/p/introducing-enhance) (2026-04-07) I built a campus digital twin for NTU — room occupancy from existing cameras, image analytics, image-to-3D — running entirely on a laptop. The school wasn't interested. I still think it's cool. - [Learning by making — med-ed research line (AACA poster + BMC paper)](https://vas.sh/p/aaca-2024-threshold-concepts-year-one) (2025-01-29) Year-one CCEB collab on creative models for preclinical learning — named on AACA 2024 poster #159051 as Vasanth Sree Ram, in the same LKCMedicine research line that published the BMC Medical Education systematic review on student-made models (doi:10.1186/s12909-025-06716-8).
